Today we’re taking a quick look at another set of Jelly Bean Factory beans, their collection of sour flavors!

As a reminder, I’ve previously reviewed the following offerings that are all manufactured by Jelly Bean Factory, and the physical categories will be scored the same:

What’s interesting about this package of nine flavors, though, is that six of them were not seen in the Trader Joe’s or Waterbridge sours.

Here are the new flavors we have here:

  • :cherries: Sour Cherry
  • :deciduous_tree: Sour Forest Fruits
  • :peach: Sour Peach
  • :pineapple: Sour Pineapple
  • :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: Sour Raspberry
  • :strawberry: Sour Strawberry

These are all quite welcome, but the standouts for me are cherry, peach, and pineapple. Sour cherry is a pretty common flavor in sour candy collections, but peach and pineapple – both naturally sour fruits at peak ripeness – are rare, so those seem especially exciting to get here. “Sour” or not, I think these are the best peach and pineapple candy flavors I’ve ever encountered, full stop. Most regular peach and pineapple flavors just don’t have an adequate level of acidity, and these do.

Forest fruits, strawberry, raspberry are all good, as well, but it definitely shifts the balance of the bag heavily in favor of berries. I miss some of the citrus flavors (grapefruit, tangerine) and the cranberry (or cranberry & apple) that were found in the Waterbridge and Trader Joe’s packages.

As a final flavor note, Sour Cola (which was also in the Waterbridge package) remains one of the most interesting and delicious jelly flavors in existence!

Conclusion

As always, Jelly Bean Factory-manufactured beans are highly recommended, continuing to carry the distinction as the best we’ve ever seen on this site!
